Formerly a Secondary English Teacher, my interest in Tai Chi developed whilst working as a VSO volunteer in Shanxi Province, China in 1993. My passion and enthusiasm for Tai Chi has since grown and I decided to consolidate my experience by applying to become a Level 1 Instructor with the Deyin Institute. (GB) I am proud to say that I successfully completed the course in November, 2017, and I am now excited to explore the next steps in my Tai Chi journey... As part of my role in school, I have run Tai Chi workshops with children as part of the Emotionally Healthy schools programme in Cheshire East. I also have a weekly Tai Chi class with Teaching staff to help to reduce stress and to aid relaxation. My classes mainly focus on the health and well-being aspects of Tai Chi and Qi Gong and I am able to deliver sessions to both children and adults. I aim to continue to build links with schools but will also be developing links with the community by running weekly classes to small groups. One to one, small groups or corporate events can also be arranged. I am keen to share the art of Tai Chi and Qi Gong and celebrate the rewards that practice can bring. I hope to create a warm and encouraging environment where everyone can enjoy the benefits of mindful movement and an enhanced sense of general well-being.
