Day 1 – 5th Sept 

Depart for Beijing

Day 2 – L | Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, transfer to  hotel. Rest for the day to recoup.(please note that if we arrive too early for hotel check in, we will visit one of the sights before travelling to hotel)  

Day 3 – B, L, D | Beijing

Morning Tai Chi exchange  (7.30 – 8.30am) at Purple Bamboo park, Visit Great Wall of China (one of the new wonders of the world), enroute visit Jade museum and shop. 

Day 4 – B, L, D | Beijing

Morning Tai Chi (9 - 11.30am) . Check out of hotel. Visit Forbidden City, then we will be embarking on our epic journey by the plateau train (19.48pm) to the sacred land of Lama Buddhism

“Tibet”, a place that captures people’s imagination. The train journey itself is an exhilarating experience, Board the high-altitude Rooftop of the World train for your spectacular journey. You will travel about 750 miles, reaching an altitude of almost 17,000 feet as you cross the Tangula Pass. This recently completed railway line is the first to link Tibet with the rest of China and is a magnificent feat of engineering. The high tech trains all have specialist carriages with their own oxygen supplies, and in places the track is cooled so that the permafrost it’s laid over does not melt. Magnificent vistas and incredible open spaces are spanned by long bridges and interspersed with modern stations - this is one rail journey that you’ll never forget.    

Day 5 - B, L, D Beijing → Xi Ning 

We will make a stop at Xi Ning (15.50pm) a beautiful city with strong Tibetan influences. Check into hotel rest for the night.

Day 6 – B, L, | Xi Ning → Lhasa

This morning we will visit the Dongguan Mosque, one of the biggest mosques in China. Islam is one of China's major religions and it existed in harmony with Buddhism for hundreds of years in China. This show the great harmony and diversity of ethnic culture in China. We then carry on our train journey (15.27pm) for Lhasa, the capital city of the Tibet province.  

Day 7 - B, L, D | Lhasa

Arrive in the afternoon (11.46pm approx.) Lhasa, Tibet early evening, check into hotel. The altitude of Tibet is 3,650 meters above sea level. We suggest that you have a good rest at the hotel for the remaining time of the day to acclimate the high altitude in case of acute mountain sickness. 

Day 8 – B, L, D | Lhasa

Morning Tai Chi and Qigong Practice (7.30 – 8.30am), Visit the Potala Palace, which is the integrated rule center of the last ruler. (There are tens of thousands of pieces of statue Thangka (scroll painting). This is the best place to experience, understand and explore the religion, culture, and history of Tibetan life). Visit to the bustling Barkhor Market, a fascinating maze of streets lined with stalls selling everything from Chinese army surplus to religious icons.

Day 9 – B, L, D | Lhasa

Morning Tai Chi and Qigong Practice (7.30 – 8.30am), visit the Jokang Monastery, located in the suburb of Lhasa City. It is one of the 'Three Great Monasteries' and the largest one in Tibetan Buddhism.

Looking at a distance, the monastery is like a heap of rice, consisting of a group of white buildings layer upon layer. Afternoon visit the nearby Norbulingka Park, the most beautiful and largest man-made park in Tibet. This park was built 200 years ago and used to be the Summer Palace of religious leaders of Tibet.

Day 10 – B, L, D | Heavenly Lake Namtso Excursion
 
Morning Qigong Practice (7.30am - 8.30am) Today we journey to the sacred Namtso Lake, known as the "Heavenly Lake" and regarded as one of the holiest lakes in Tibet. Situated at an altitude of 4,720 metres, Namtso is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, vast open skies and breathtaking views of the snow-capped Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains.
 
En route, we cross the spectacular Nagela Mountain Pass (approximately 5,190m), where colourful Tibetan prayer flags flutter in the wind carrying blessings and aspirations across the plateau. Here we will have the opportunity to experience the traditional Tibetan custom of offering Lungta (Wind Horse) prayer flags, symbolising the spreading of peace, compassion and good fortune.
 
Return to Lhasa in the evening.
 
Day 11 – B, L | Lhasa → Nyingchi

Early morning coach journey to Nyingchi. We travel alongside the Lhasa River. You will cross the Mila mountain pass, elevation approximately 5013m. After descending Mila mountain, we follow the Nyeyang He river, known as the mother river of the Kongpo people. Arrive in Nyingchi and rest for the evening.

Day 12 – B, L, D | Nyingchi

Morning Qigong exercise (7.30am – 8.45am). Morning visit a local Tibetan family to experience traditional Tibetan daily life, and you may learn some Tibetan language. Carry on our journey to NyingchiNote: Today’s activities are subject to availability. If these cannot proceed for any reason, we will arrange alternative activities such as training or local sightseeing.

Day 13 – B, D | Nyingchi (Lulang Forest)

8am – 9.30am: Tai Chi Practice.  Afterwards we drive to Lulang Forest. En route, visit the Nyingchi Giant Cypress Reserve: a valley of giant cypress trees on the lower reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo and Niyang rivers, at an altitude of 3000–3400 metres.The Giant Cypress Nature Reserve holds hundreds of these massive Tibetan cypresses, recognisable by their sprawling root claws and upright trunks.

After several hours’ driving, we reach the Sergyem La pass at 4720m elevation, with views of the magnificent Namcha Barwa mountain.Lulang Forest area: The standout attraction is the 10-hectare Tibetan cypress forest in Bagi Village, Nyingchi County, sitting at 3040 metres above sea level.

Day 14 – B (lunch & dinner not included) Nyingchi → Cheng Du

Morning Tai Chi Practice (7.30 – 8.30am). check out of hotel after breakfast and catch flight (11.40am) to Cheng Du, the home of Panda and the Great Buddha Statue. Arrive at Chengdu and check into hotel. Rest for the day

Day 15 – Sat B, (L not included), D | Chengdu

Tai Chi Qigong practice (8.30 - 10am) in the park, enjoy local culture and watch people daily life in the park. Visit to the Huang Long Xi Ancient Town, a 1700 years old town with beautiful architecture and landscape as well as great culture. Free time to wonder around to admire this lovely town at their own pace

Day 16 – Sun B, L, D | Cheng Du

Travel to Le Shan to see a famous world heritage, stone Buddhist statue, carved out of a rock along a hillside in the 8th century. Evening free time to visit Jin Li a famous local food street and night market.

Day 17 – Mon B, Light lunch, D | Cheng Du

Tai Chi Qigong practice (10 – 11.30am) in the park. Visit the Panda Conservation Base to see how these unique animals are looked after and bred.

Day 18 – Tues
Departure for home 

Special Notice: During this tour you will travel to altitudes of almost 17,000ft which should not cause a problem. During the train journey you will travel in pressurised compartments and oxygen is available if necessary.
