China Tibet: A Journey of Tai Chi, Qigong and the Spirit of the East

Following the success of our previous journeys to China and Tibet, we are delighted to invite you on another extraordinary adventure that combines Tai Chi, Qigong, spirituality, culture and breathtaking landscapes into one unforgettable experience.

This is far more than a sightseeing holiday. It is a journey to explore the roots of Chinese culture, deepen our Tai Chi and Qigong practice, experience living spiritual traditions and connect with both people and places in a meaningful way.

Throughout our journey we will practise Tai Chi Chuan and Health Qigong in beautiful parks, sacred environments and spectacular natural settings. We will take part in exchanges with local practitioners, observe how these traditional arts remain an important part of daily life in China, and gain a deeper appreciation of the philosophy and culture from which they emerged. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or a beginner, this journey offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the living traditions of the internal arts.

Our adventure begins in Beijing, the historic capital of China and one of the world's great cultural centres. Here we will join local Tai Chi enthusiasts in some of the city's beautiful parks, experiencing a daily tradition that has been passed down through generations. We will also explore iconic landmarks including the Great Wall of China and the magnificent Forbidden City, symbols of one of the world's oldest continuous civilisations.

From Beijing we embark upon one of the world's most remarkable railway journeys aboard the famous Qinghai-Tibet Railway. As we ascend through vast grasslands, mountain ranges and endless skies towards the Tibetan Plateau, the pace of modern life gradually fades behind us. Many travellers describe this journey as a pilgrimage in itself, offering time for reflection, contemplation and appreciation of the immense beauty of nature.

Along the way we visit Xining, an important cultural crossroads where Tibetan, Han, Hui and other ethnic traditions have peacefully coexisted for centuries. Here we witness another aspect of China's rich cultural and spiritual heritage before continuing our journey towards the legendary land of Tibet.

Known as the "Roof of the World", Tibet has inspired travellers, pilgrims and seekers for generations. Vast snow-capped mountains, crystal-clear skies, sacred temples and colourful prayer flags create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else on Earth. Tibetan Buddhism remains deeply woven into daily life, and everywhere we encounter reminders of a culture founded upon compassion, mindfulness, devotion and respect for nature.

In Lhasa, the spiritual heart of Tibet, we will visit the magnificent Potala Palace and the revered Jokhang Temple, joining pilgrims as they walk the ancient Barkhor Circuit. We will experience the living traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, observe centuries-old customs and gain a deeper understanding of one of the world's most fascinating spiritual cultures.

Our journey then takes us to the beautiful region of Nyingchi, often described as the most scenic part of Tibet. Surrounded by forests, rivers and sacred mountains, we will visit local Tibetan families and experience traditional hospitality first hand. Here, away from the crowds and amidst some of the most pristine landscapes in Asia, our daily Tai Chi and Qigong practice becomes more than exercise; it becomes a way of connecting with nature, cultivating inner tranquillity and experiencing the harmony between body, mind and spirit.

Imagine greeting the morning sun with gentle Qigong exercises beneath the vast Tibetan sky. Feel the stillness of the mountains, breathe the pure air of the plateau and practise amongst landscapes that have inspired monks, hermits and spiritual practitioners for thousands of years. These are often the moments that remain in the heart long after the journey has ended.

Our final destination is Chengdu, the home of giant pandas and one of China's most relaxed and culturally rich cities. Here we continue our Tai Chi and Qigong practice in local parks, visit the world-famous Panda Conservation Base and marvel at the awe-inspiring Leshan Giant Buddha. We will also enjoy the charm of ancient towns, vibrant local culture and the famous leisurely lifestyle for which Sichuan is renowned.

This tour has been carefully designed for those who seek more than a conventional holiday. It offers a rare opportunity to explore the cultural roots of Tai Chi and Qigong, experience authentic exchanges with local people, discover sacred spiritual traditions and witness some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.

Whether you come to deepen your practice, explore ancient cultures, experience the spirituality of Tibet or simply discover the beauty of China, this journey promises inspiration, friendship and memories that will last a lifetime.

Join us on a remarkable journey where Tai Chi, Qigong, culture, spirituality and adventure come together in the timeless landscapes of China and Tibet.
